El productor Doug Elkins publicó en el sitio Bandcamp la versión completa y final de "Red Hot Lipstick", una canción grabada por Britney Spears originalmente para su álbum "Blackout".  

"Produje y co-escribí esta canción con Britney Spears. Podría escribir capítulos sobre mi vida profesional con ella, pero como siempre quise mantener todo muy discreto, voy a decir dos cosas", publicó junto con la música.  

"Britney sabe cantar. Me acuerdo que le pedía seguido que dejara de comer dulces durante las grabaciones, pero ella sabe cantar cuando se dedica en serio. Me molesta que nunca cante en vivo." Doug argumenta.

También reveló que acompañó de cerca el breakdown de la cantante y que desde entonces no la siente apasionada cuando actúa en vivo.  "Uno de los momentos más felices de mi vida profesional fue el día en que Britney entregó esta canción como parte de su álbum final a Jive Records. Mientras esperaba saber el destino final de la canción, también acompañé el horror que sucedió después. El álbum que vino a continuación - 'Blackout' - no incluía ninguna de las canciones que ella entregó a la editorial ", reveló. 

Al final, Elkins dijo: "Tengo que admitir que es un álbum muy bueno, claro, a excepción de este pequeño aspecto."
